New Blog Series: REVERTS – Stories of Muslim Revert Brothers and Sisters – Sister Francelise

Asalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu.

With the last night’s of Ramadan coming to pass, I have been reflecting about some occurrences, that which affects the Ummah.

It seems as though there are a series of unfortunate disasters that have happened here in California and everywhere else in the US these past months: James Wesley Howell, Omar Mateen, a child attacked by an alligator, Donald Trump accusing war veterans of stealing money, and just pure chaos!

Thereafter, Britain separating from the European Union, #Ohmagerd!

Even though these things are happening, let us all remember to be here for one another.

We must also remember Ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Do not indulge in excessive talk except when remembering Allah. Excessive talking without the Remembrance of Allah hardens the heart; and those who are the farthest from Allah are those whose hearts are hard.”

[At-Tirmidhi]

This…is a reminder for all of us. Especially to myself.

Sometimes, though our conversations get too heated…we should remember that what we say could possibly be the reason why we do not enter Jannatul Firdous. May Allah help us keep our tongues and character within good parameters and the correct, amin.

In light of these unfortunate events, I’ve decided to start a new blog series, in sha Allah, that I call Reverts.

The aim for this series is to raise awareness to our Ummah and non-Muslims alike, about the beautiful trials and tribulations our revert brothers and sisters have gone through, which led them to Islam.

Also, to let people know that “Allah opens doors” for us. We all are made unique from one another, come from different backgrounds, places, experiences, and nationalities.

No matter our differences, Allah reminds us that we are made the same:

Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; then We fashioned the drop into a clot, then We fashioned the clot into a little lump, then We fashioned the little lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of Creators!” [23:12-14]

Ma sha Allah.

Here is my French sister Francelise.
